    Cool

What was the gun Eastwood used on Pale Rider, the one that you don't insert the bullets but you change the complete cartridge ?

I actually had to go find a Pale Rider trailer online to be sure. It's a model 1858 Remington (the one on the bottom). He had to take the whole cylinder out because it's a cap and ball. If he didn't replace the cylinder, he'd have to take the time to fill every chamber with powder, put a lead ball on top, ram the ball down, and then put a cap on every nipple. It'd take a minute or 2, rather than the 10 seconds it take to replace the cylinder.

    Cool

Oh, Ok......I might have to check that flick again too....

I noticed that, because in all the previous westerns, you only see the guns that you have to load the bullets one by one.....

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">It's a made from scratch type of thing. Although I do see some inspiration from real pistols.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">In the first pic I posted, the revolver above the Remington is a Walker, very similar to a Dragoon.
In order to take the cylinder off, you would have to pull out the wedge pin and pull the barrel off. Basically what Tuko does when he pieces together a gun in the gun shop in "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly".

    Here's a Dragoon.

Just like all Colt revolvers up until the 1873 SAA, it was an open top. The Remington, because the cylinder was totally incased by the frame, was a stronger design. That's why Colt used it in their Peacemaker.
